Domestic oil seed and edible oil shed over 1pc
Mumbai– Domestic oil seed and edible oil futures ended in the red zone on Monday. Soy oil along with soybean posted more than one per cent losses despite firm BMD palm oil and eCBOT. A pick up in rape seed arrivals weighed on the trading sentiment. Mustard seed ended down 1.8 per cent while castor seed shed 1.7 per cent in the absence of buying. Bursa Malaysia Derivatives [BMD] crude palm oil May contract traded at MYR 3301.00 [+13.00] per ton. Chicago Board of Trade [CBOT] soybean futures moved up during electronic trading. Soybean May contract traded at USD 13.66, up 8.00 cents while soy oil May contracts offered at 56.98 cents per pound, up 0.14 points. April soy oil contract on National Commodity Derivatives Exchange [NCDEX] closed at Rs 594.70 [-8.40] per 10 kg with volume of 89,660 lots. May contract settled at Rs 605.35 [-7.05] per 10 kg with 64,800 lots traded. Open interest for April and May contract was 68,040 lots and 71,960 lots respectively. April contract on National Board of Trade [NBOT] settled at Rs 592.40 [-9.20] per 10 kg. Soybean futures closed with over one per cent losses on NCDEX. April contract closed at Rs 2,304.00 [-28.00] per 100 kg with volume 51,830 lots traded. May contract ended at Rs 2,340.50 [-29.00] per 100 kg with volume 45,150 lots traded. Open interest for April and May contract was 140,080 and 162,130 lots respectively. MUSTARD SEED Mustard seed futures April contract closed down at Rs 2643.00 [-50.00] per 100 kg with 73,290 lots traded. Open interest for the contract was 83,820 lots. CASTOR SEED Castor seed futures June contract on RBOT ended at Rs 4,955.00 [-87.00] per 100 kg. | ||||||||
